About the Role
As a Controller reporting directly to the President, Marmon/Keystone Mexico, this role is crucial in managing the accounting activities, and overseeing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This position is responsible for ensuring a timely financial close, monthly and quarterly Financial Statement preparation with USD functional currency, workpapers and Financial Deliverables to report to US Parent. Further responsibilities include tax, imports and GAAP compliance with internal and external audit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting management, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving results. This role may be based either at Marmon’s Chicago headquarters or remote, with 25% travel required or as needed.

What You’ll Be Doing
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic planning, monitoring variances and implementing corrective actions.
Cash Management: Optimize cash flow and liquidity through effective policies and procedures, supporting day-to-day operations and strategic investments.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP standards, providing insights for improved financial performance.
Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance and asset safeguarding, continuously assessing and enhancing processes.
Tax Compliance: Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, minimizing liabilities and optimizing tax efficiency through coordination with external advisors.
Audit Management: Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, ensuring timely completion of audit activities and addressing inquiries.
Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous development.
Operational Excellence: Drive working capital improvements, maintain inventory accuracy, oversee credit and collections, and present financial results to corporate stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with Company Standard Practice Instructions (SPI), including IMMEX certification and collaboration with SAT to resolve issues.
Currency Management: Manage USD functional currency and currency translation (Temporal Method) to support financial operations.
Monthly Activities:
Consolidate, review, and analyze business unit financials, distributing final statements, forecasts, and budgets to management.
Assist in month-end close, forecasts, and annual budget submissions, ensuring adherence to reporting deadlines.
Manage and develop financial resources, ensuring compliance with SPI and implementing strong controls
Quarterly Activities:
Review quarterly analytics and financial statement certifications, assisting in group presentations for Quarterly Business Reviews with Marmon Management.
Annual Activities:
Coordinate and consolidate the Annual Budget process, ensure equity pickup entries are booked correctly, and complete annual forms and requests from Marmon Corporate/Legal/Risk Management.
Ongoing Activities:
Liaise with Internal Audit, perform spot audits, assist in capital expenditure evaluations and due diligence of potential acquisitions.
Respond to ad hoc analysis requests, lead system changes, and be a power user for OneStream.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong technical knowledge of GAAP principles, financial reporting requirements, and internal controls.
Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, with specific expertise in Epicor, Kinetic, and OneStream.
Strong communication skills with a proven ability to effectively communicate to various audiences.
Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Proven leadership abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
Comfortable with autonomy and self-motivated.
Ability to use a personal computer, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language in a business environment.
What You’ll Bring
7+ years of progressive accounting/financial analysis experience, audit experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to operate independently, and work under tight timelines
CPA preferred, degree in Accounting required.
Competencies: Technical Capacity, Problem Solving/Analysis, Customer/Client Focus, Decision Making, Project Management, Communication Proficiency, and Teamwork Orientation.
Experience with MX/US GAAP and SAT requirements.
This role requires 25% travel to Mexico (Monterrey and Queretaro) and within the U.S. for training and leadership meetings.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Pay Range:
